Duties and Essential Responsibilities
- – Provide technical leadership witihin Agile teams, assigning development tasks, reviewing deliverables, and ensuring adherance to quality standards and timelines.
- – Mentor and guide junior developers, promoting the adoption of Appian best practices and fostering a collaborative development environment.
- – Design and develop Appian applications that align with user experience principles from the Digital Services Playbook and U.S. Web Design Standards.
- – Develop and customize Appian applications to enhance business processes and improve operational efficiency.
- – Collaborate with architects, analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- – Integrate Appian applications with external systems using Res/SOAP APIs, RDBMS, and third-party connectors.
- – Troubleshoot integration issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions to ensure end-to-end system reliability.
- – Conduct unit testing, performance tuning, issue troubleshooting, and provide support for system deployment and post-production stabilization.
- – Serve as the Technical Lead on mid to large-scale Appian projects, ensuring compliance with enterprise architecture standards and delivery best practices.
- – Prepare and deliver technical presentations to senior stakeholders, providing guidance on solution design, architecture, and risk mitigation.
- – Define and enforce development standards, reusable components, and design patterns to ensure code maintainability and scalability.
- – Conduct formal code reviews and ensure deliverables meet performance, security, and accessibility requirements (e.g., 508 compliance).
- – Stay current on Appian platform releases and emerging trends, evaluate new features for potential implementation across the organization.
- – Contribute to strategic planning and solution road mapping for enterprise Appian implementations.
Technical Skills & Expertise
- – 7+ years of progressive experience in system design and development, with a preference for experience leading teams.
- – Strong proficiency in Appian development, including SAIL components, UI design, and process modeling.
- – Expertise in integrating Appian with databases and external applications.
- – In-depth understanding of Appian’s security model, scalability, and performance tuning.
- – Experience implementing Cloud BPM solutions for the Federal Government.
- – Strong technical leadership skills, including task delegation and review of Agile team deliverables.
- – Ability to present and explain technical concepts to senior stakeholders.
- – Experience designing architectural frameworks using industry-standard methodologies and resolving system integration issues.
- – At least 3 years of experience supporting Agile-based development teams.
- – Strong writing, analytical, and presentation skills.
Minimum Education & Certifications
- – Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related technical discipline from an accredited university or college.
- – Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
- – Certifications: Appian Certified Senior Developer, Appian Certified Lead Developer
